Install JMP 7 - Windows
Before You Install
- You must purchase a license for this software.
- This version of JMP 7 is for Windows 2000, XP, or Vista.
- You must have Windows administrative rights on your computer, or have your Windows system administrator on site to assist you.
- Uninstall any previous versions or evaluation copies of the software.
- Close all open applications.
- Disable any virus scanning software on your computer.
- You must be connected to the UCSF network and confirm that the UCSF DNS is included in your network configuration:
- Right-click on My Network Places and select Properties
- Right-click on Local Area Connections and select Properties
- Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and select Properties
- Click Advanced and select DNS tab
- Check to see if "ucsf.edu" is listed as a DNS suffix
- If it is not listed, add it and restart your computer as directed
Installation Instructions
- Open My Computer and from the Tools menu, select Map Network Drive.
- For folder, enter \\rsl.library.ucsf.edu\jmp7win
- Click Connect using a different user name.
- Enter the Username and Password you received in an email from RSL (note: these passwords expire every week on Sunday night).
- Click OK, then click Finish.
- In the window that appears, select Step 1 - System Requirements Wizard and follow the instructions.
- When your system has been updated or approved, return to the installation menu and select Step 2 - Install JMP 7.
- Once the installation is complete, launch the JMP application and choose the Open License option from the window that appears.
- Navigate to the location on your computer where you saved the JMP.PER file that was attached the the email you received from RSL, and select the JMP.PER file.
- To disconnect from the download server, open My Computer and from the Tools menu, select Disconnect Network Drive.
