The Drug Industry Document Archive (DIDA) is a fully searchable record of company marketing strategy reports, internal correspondence, and descriptions of company-sponsored activities. The UCSF Library and Center for Knowledge Management developed DIDA to house documents drawn primarily from United States ex. rel. David Franklin vs. Parke-Davis, Division of Warner-Lambert Company (now owned by Pfizer, Inc).
The litigation concerned the company's practices for marketing Neurontin (gabapentin), which are analyzed in a paper by UCSF researchers in the August 15, 2006, issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine (Narrative Review: The Promotion of Gabapentin: An Analysis of Internal Industry Documents). DIDA also contains documents on the marketing of Vioxx (rofecoxib) from the public records of the Minority Office of the Congressional Committee on Government Reform. The Library will add new documents to DIDA as they become available. See UCSF Today coverage of this story. [back to top] |
