Newspapers and current magazines are available at both Parnassus and Mission Bay.

- - Popular Reading books are located on the north side of the current journals section on the main (3rd) floor of the Parnassus Library.
- - Newspapers and current magazines are available next to the books.
- - Newspapers and popular magazines are also available at the Mission Bay Library.
- - UCSF personnel and students may check out books for 4 weeks.
- - Any library user may read the books, newspapers, and magazines in the library.
- - The Popular Reading collection is constantly updated by adding new titles each month and returning ones that are no longer popular.
- - Newspapers are kept for 2 days, weekly magazines are kept for 6 months, and monthly magazines are kept for 1 or 2 years.
