First Stop: Center for Instructional Technology
The Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) supports the UCSF course management environment, Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE). Contact CIT staff by email or phone, (415) 502-6678.
Types of Material Accepted
- Material scanned from UCSF Library print collection.
- Other material, (i.e., material not owned or licensed by UCSF), with copyright permission.
- UCSF-owned or -licensed digital versions of copyrighted material (e.g., Nature, Cochrane Library, Harrison's Online, Encyclopedia Britannica.) In these cases, citations and links to the electronic version of the material will be added to the electronic reserve system.
- For instructor or department material (e.g., lecture notes or exams), please first contact the Center for Instructional Technology by email or at (415) 502-6678.
- The Library will accept up 75 digital items per course web page.
Course Reserves Request Form
Requests will only be accepted via the Request Form, below. Electronic submission of requests is currently unavailable. Digital and paper material can be listed on the same form. Submit forms in person, by campus mail, Box 0840, or fax (415) 476-6244.
Special or unusual requests should be discussed with the Reserve Assistant or Access Services Supervisor prior to submission of the list.
Processing
Requests are processed in the order they are received. Processing generally takes 5 working days. Request with incomplete or erroneous information may be delayed. Notification will be sent when each request is completed to allow faculty to review material before announcing it to students.
Copyright Compliance
A Copyright Compliance Statement must be signed by the primary instructor and returned to the Library. This is a one time requirement. The instructor is responsible for adhering to the copyright standards as outlined in the EReserves Copyright Guidelines.
Instructors are responsible for adhering to Copyright Guidelines. Materials may be reviewed for compliance by Library staff. Instructors will be contacted immediately if any copyright concerns are noted by Library staff. Should the reproduction of a particular item be prohibited by copyright law, faculty can purchase copyright clearance to allow its use. The Academic Permissions Service (APS) of the Copyright Clearance Center provides an automated copyright permissions service.
